Rep. Senator Who Praised Segregationist Judges To Judiciary

Well, when all you pretty much have left in your party are white, southern "conservatives," that's who's going to be available for committee assignments. Of course, this one is a bit more egregious than most other. It's like Putting former GOP nutter, Tom Tancredo on a committee to study ways of improving race relations.

Sessions appeared on the scene in 1986 D.C. when Reagan nominated him to serve on the U.S. District Court in Alabama. The Judiciary Committee was controlled by Republicans, but his appointment went absolutely nowhere--perhaps because of stories like his saying that groups like the ACLU and NAACP "forced civil rights down the throats of people."
