Not that this is really that big a deal (just an an irritant to the nutters), but I have to honestly say Lieberman has pleasantly surprised me since the inauguration. Not that he hasn't done some dopey things: letter with Lindsay pleading w/ admin not to close Guantanamo. But for the most part, he's keeping his mouth shut and working hard to not make waves.
Yesterday on CBS’s Face the Nation, former Vice President Cheney repeated his claim that President Obama is making the country less secure. Notably, Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT), who has largely agreed with Cheney on national security policy, disagrees. Today on MSNBC, Lieberman said the U.S. is not less safe under Obama:
